How to Transfer Aircraft Title in Arkansas
Whether you're buying a taildragger in Fayetteville or selling a twin in Little Rock, transferring aircraft title in Arkansas follows the federal FAA process. This guide walks you through every step.
FAA Handles All Aircraft Title Transfers
Arkansas has no state-level aircraft title or registration process separate from the FAA. The FAA Civil Aviation Registry in Oklahoma City is the sole authority.
What You'll Need
- FAA Form 8050-2 (Bill of Sale)
- FAA Form 8050-1 (Aircraft Registration Application)
- $5 FAA registration fee
- Lien release if applicable
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Search the FAA registry at registry.faa.gov to confirm clear title and no outstanding liens.
Step 2: Complete the Bill of Sale. Seller fills out Form 8050-2 with N-number, make, model, serial number, and buyer's full legal name.
Step 3: Complete the Registration Application. Buyer fills out Form 8050-1.
Step 4: Mail to the FAA Registry. Send both forms and $5 to the FAA Civil Aviation Registry, P.O. Box 25504, Oklahoma City, OK 73125.
Step 5: Carry the pink copy in the aircraft as temporary registration.
